Local people has been trained monkeys to help them in coconut plantations and now it is also an attraction for tourists who visit Samui.

Look for the theatre on the main road at Bophut village. The Monkey Theatre is a great place to take kids. Make sure that you sit at the front because the audience gets to participate with the monkeys in some of the highly amusing acts. The monkey show is followed by a coconut picking performance followed by an elephant show. For a small fee you may even ride bareback on the elephants. The Monkey Theatre has 3 shows each day - 10:30 to 12:00, 14:00 to 15:30 and 16:00 to 17:30.
